In July 2021 I walked into this gym without knowing a single person and without ANY CrossFit experience. All I knew was that I wanted something different, something that a normal gym couldn’t offer me, and I was willing to go out on a limb to find it. What I was looking for was an environment that would help motivate me to lose weight, and maybe allow me to meet a few new people along the way, but what I found was far better than that. I found community; I met the friends I was looking for and the people I could truly count on to encourage and support me both inside AND outside of the gym. Not only did I find wonderful connections, but I found myself. I found the part of me that used to be excited to work hard and rediscovering that part of me allowed me to quickly see results. I am proud to share that I’ve lost over 30 pounds and that I am (undoubtedly) the strongest I have ever been! IronBourne is where I found community, I found grit, and I found passion for fitness.
So, if you’re unsure about CrossFit, or are apprehensive about trying a new gym in general, I would highly recommend stopping in for a class or two! The coaching staff do a phenomenal job of introducing you to CrossFit terminology, demonstrating proper form, and breaking down the movements to help you build strength and mobility, while also preventing injury.
Don’t let fear or uncertainty be the reason you don’t give it a try!
